PIERCING CARE

Keep It Clean

For topical piercings, clean your new piercing daily with warm water and unscented, antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. If needed, use a cotton swab to gently remove any buildup around the piercing.

Use H2Ocean or another piercing saline solution to irrigate your topical piercing at least twice a day.

For oral piercings, rinse your mouth thoroughly with antiseptic mouthwash or salt water after every time you eat, drink, or anytime you put anything in your mouth. Also rinse when you wake up and before you go to bed. Use a sterile bandage or sterile dressing when necessary/applicable and minimize your exposure to dirt, and bacteria for the first 6 weeks.

Avoid Touching

Resist the urge to touch, manipulate or rotate your piercing as this can interrupt the healing process.

Mind Your Environment

Be careful not to submerge your piercing for the first four weeks. No swimming pools, lakes, hot tubs, etc. Sleeping directly on your piercing can cause irritation that could impede the healing process.

Book a Downsizing Appointment

Many piercings are pierced with a post that is deliberately long. This is done to accommodate any swelling during the initial healing process. Once your piercing is healed, we will “downsize” your post to a smaller post that is properly fitted just for you- for free! Talk to your piercer to schedule an appointment for your free downsizing!
